VP-47 BayFest 5K Runway Run
Friday, July 4 at 7 A.M.
All of Oahu is invited to get physical and enter the VP-47 BayFest 5k Runway Run, Friday, July 4 at 7 a.m. The race starts & finishes at Hangar 104, and takes runners along the MCBH Flightline, catching glimpses of historical Pyramid Rock. MCCS will present awards to the top three finishers in various age groups, as well as, to the top three overall Men and Women finishers. All participants will receive a signature BayFest 5K
T-shirt just for entering.
Once registered, pick up your race packet Thursday, July 3 at the Kaneohe Bay Semper Fit Center (0900-1600) or race-day at 5:30 a.m. at Hangar 104. Registration information coming soon!

GNC BodySearch Fitness Competition
Sunday, July 6 at 3 P.M.
It's the survival of the fittest AND the finest at the 2008 GNC BayFest BodySearch Fitness Competition. Watch these slim, trim and muscle-brimmed men and women strut their stuff, then vote with your applause for the crème de la crop.
All BodySearch participants must be at least 18 years old. GNC BayFest BodySearch Fitness Competition includes modeling fitness and one or two-piece, full-cut swimsuit attire, (no thongs allowed). Contestants are judged on personality, physique and interviewing skills. First through third place male and female winners win cash and prizes.
If you think you have the brawn and beauty of a BodySearch contender, enter and compete for cash, prizes, and the prestigious title of 2008 GNC BayFest BodySearch king or queen.

Float Your Own Boat In The Bathtub Regatta

You're a master of the open ocean. You're a sage of the seven seas. You know every knot in the book
You MIGHT have what it takes to be a Bathtub Regatta Champion.
The Bathtub Regatta is a FREE race for all military, civilians and corporate teams who have created a homemade boat, and are willing to put their crafts to the test. Regattas must be self-propelled by 4-person teams created originally for the race. Numerous prizes will be awarded from first place from first to sink, funniest design, Military madness to best craft and many more.

Sharkey's Open Mic Comedy Competition
Saturday, July 5 at 3 P.M.
Amateur comics take the FestTent Stage at BayFest, July 5, where the audience and judges measure the "laugh-ability" of Hawaii's unknown, up-and-coming talent.
Aspiring comedians are welcome to join in the preliminary contests taking place each 10:30 pm, Friday and Saturday, from April 25 - June 27, at Sharkey's Comedy Club, located in Princess Kaiulani Hotel. Winners from the preliminary contests will compete in the BayFest finals for year-long bragging rights, the infamous "Sharkey's Open Mic" Trophy, and 2 round-trip neighbor island airfares.

Emcee Maniac Competition
July 4-6
Open call to all military service members with a great personality and talent for improvisation. Enter to win a spot as a BayFest emcee, hosting the BayFest Main Stage, July 4-6, at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay.
To register, sign up by clicking the link below by June 6 (time extended). The first 30 entrants will showcase their talents in the Emcee Maniac Competition at the K-Bay Base Theater on Tuesday, June 17 at 6:00 pm in front of a packed theater and a panel of judges. Participants will be judged on their personality, ability to work the crowd, and showmanship. Due to the type of audience expected, entrants are asked to keep content to a level that is suitable for all ages.
Registration closed. Competition June 26 at 6 p.m. - Kahuna's Sports Bar & Grill.
Three winners will be chosen and each will emcee one night on the BayFest Main Stage. The prize package also includes a meet and greet pass with the bands performing the same night and BayFest memorabilia.
This competition is open to all active duty military, reservists, and National Guardsmen stationed in Hawaii. Proof of active military service is required. Marine Corps Community Services is not responsible for any travel arrangements to BayFest.

July 5 starting at 1 P.M.
Make sure you are the one to beat at the BayFest Eating Contests on Saturday July 5 in the Fest Tent. Come hungry, because this five-minute all-you-can-eat buffet is not for the weak stomach. Sign up at the Fest Tent right before the event or call (808) 254-7591.
All American Pie Contest
July 4, 2 P.M.
Just like Mom used to make...
Bayfest hosts the first Amateur Pie-Baking Contest on Friday, July 4. Pies must be homemade. All entries must be baked at home from scratch (no pre-mixes, canned fillings, commercial mixes, puddings, etc.). Winners are required to supply their recipe.
The Homemade Pies will be on display starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Fest Tent. Judging begins at 2 p.m. Prizes are awarded on overall appearance, crust, filling, and originality.
